The Buzzard Duathlon, the de-facto kickoff to the Northeast Ohio multisport season, was Sunday at Hinkley. SSSMST wasted no time in getting the season started, taking the following results (among others!):
- Women’s Biathlon– 1st, 2nd
- Men’s Duathlon– 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and then 4 more in the top-10.
- Five separate 1st-place age group finishes.
About the only thing we didn’t win was the bike raffle.
This could be due to several things, including perfect weather, strong team support, several new bicycles, new shoes from Scott Running, very good coffee, or an inverse of the blue-shift Doppler effect (which actually causes blue things to move more quickly toward you). I’d also like to note that the first four men to finish– including Adam Hunter in 4th place– were regular attendees at the Indoor Trainer Series. Coincidence?
