Ok folks, as we wait for our iron dudes and dudettes to return from far and wide, we’ll bring thee up to speed with a few anecdotal tales from races the last few weeks. Rood seems to be humming along (must be the Carling’s).
First, there’s Rood at the race formerly known as Celebrate Westlake:
Everyone is getting ready for IRONMAN. So, I got the honor of being the only GREEN Team guy at this local race.
As always this race was humid, fun, humid, has a great post race stuff, and did I mention humid.
One thing worth reporting, on this day I reclaimed my title as fastest ROOD.
Ummmm, was it humid? Guess we all know what post race refreshments were!
Then, in an effort to outdo his performance at Royalview several weeks ago….or was it in Maryland… he took on the 331 Racing Manatoc Mountain Bike race at Camp Manatoc in our own Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
This was my first ever MTB race. Man was it fun. I crashed a bunch. But on the climbs and flats I did a pretty good job re-passing the dudes that went past while I was on the ground.
Looking forward to the next one.
Oh, how I would have loved to have been climbing up Truxall Road as he made that nice little 180 turn/15% kick along the road……
Tune back in later this week when (we hope) all our Ironman and Rev3 Cedar Point finishers wax eloquently about their experiences!!!
