In her first race back from “maternity leave” from racing, Andrea Lamastra smoked the Disney Marathon a few weekends ago with a 3:38, setting a PR and qualifying for the Boston Marathon in the process. She ran the race with her sister, and both plan on heading to Boston in April for the main event.

Here’s a quick race report from Andrea:

It was great to feel the excitement of racing again but I also forgot just how bad it hurts!!!! My sister has a bucket list which includes qualifying for Boston. She missed her time by 6 min at the Columbus marathon so I told her I would run with her to try it again. We made the cut off by 2 minutes so we were both very excited! We are both planning on going to Boston in April for some more punishment, but this time we aren’t going to worry about time and just have fun. It was great being able to run with my sister and have a girls weekend away in the sunny weather, although it was very hard being away from my 2 favorite men! I’m looking forward to some warm weather here in Cleveland and to be able to train with everyone this spring!!!!
