Andrea and Jim LaMastra represented SSSMST at the Dam Tri in Crawford County, PA.  This was the inaugural running of the race, and it sounds like it should be on the calendar for 2010!

Andrea took first place for women in the sprint triathlon (note that this was her first triathlon since having Luca – super impressive) and Jim won the Olympic race.  Well done guys!!!

Says Jim:

This was the HARDEST olympic bike course I’ve ever done. Besides the race venu being GREAT, they had the best prizes I’ve ever seen at an amateur race. The trophy was cool (I’ll take a pic and put it on the site and the 1st OA prize was 300 bucks cash. On top of that, they had a free wetsuit for fastest swim, which I won with the hardest effort I’ve ever put into a swim race. Also, I won a Louis Garneu TT helmet for the fastest bike split. Kevin Park won a free pair of shoes for the fastest run split. I had to work hard the entire day and was very happy to say the least. Good tune up for RI 70.3 which is two weeks away…

And from Andrea:

I was a bit nervous for my first triathlon since Luca was born but it was a lot of fun. It was nice to be able to race with Jim again even though I only saw him for a quick pass on the run. It was a difficult course but very well done. A good one to put on your calanders for next year. They have great awards!!!
