Eleven of us showed up last night to partake of the perfect weather on North Marginal Road for the third race in the Spin Cup 2009. This most prestigious of competitions is a series of time trials, and the overall winner is showered in affection and champagne.
With no warmup, Jim Lamastra (sssmst) took the honors for yesterday’s installment in 11:53, setting a new course record in the perfect windless conditions. Five seconds behind him was Ray Huang (Torelli), followed by Rob Thompson (sssmst).
Jason Halloran (Spin/RRD) held on to his overall lead, although Andy Cornwell (sssmst) moved to within a point. Leah Halloran (sssmst) contintues to pad her lead in the women’s competition, too.

You guys have a weird sense of windless!! But it was windless by comparison of what howls dwon the Marginal. Great job everyone and especially those Merckx style. Thank you for letting me race with you guys.
Oh, yeah, I was going to mark who raced it Merckx style… I’ll miss someone, but I think it was Steiner, Brad, Jason, Pete, and Leah. I think.
i guess i am not important enough for an overall placing in the spin cup.
Oops. I guess not.
Fixed.
